Assistant coaches. Often times will never get any of the limelight or spotlight they deserve. Countless hours, days, weeks, months & years from assistant coaches have dedicated their time & lives to working with young student-athletes over the years bringing a wealth of knowledge & passion to the game of basketball.

Here are some of the longest tenured assistants in the valley of the sun, although this isn’t a full list this is a list comprised between many coaches around the valley:

Tom Williamson-Pinnacle

Williamson, the former head coach at Horizon High school for a number of years, spent time as an assistant for Jerry Conner where he won state championships & enjoyed success, has spent the past number of years under coach Charlie Wilde at Pinnacle where the Pioneers are always contenders!

Gary Corraggio-Horizon

Coraggio is a loyal assistant to Coach Jerry Conner, spending time with him at stops at Shadow Mountain (where he is also an alumni & former player for Conner) & currently Horizon High School. Coraggio is filled with knowledge of Conner’s well-known run-n-gun offensive break.

Mike Skinner-Pinnacle

Skinner, another long time loyal assistant with stints at Horizon High School as well as currently at Pinnacle High School. Skinner a long with Wilde have both spent years building up the Pinnacle program from the ground up.

Paul Sanger-Arcadia

Sanger has been a long time assistant at Horizon, Paradise Valley & now Arcadia. Sanger is a real players coach with a knowledge of the game that is strong & he relates to players well which helps any program.
